Photography Syllabus

Miss Alvarez-Sotomayor

Aim:

To learn the fundamentals of using a SLR camera and the developing and printing of black & white 35 mm film.

Student Outcome:

A Portfolio: which will include all your negatives with their respective contact sheets, and 17 of our most completed photographs.

Daily grading:

You will be given a daily grading from 0-2. At the end of the quarter all your points will be added and that will become your classroom participation grade.

Evaluations will be based on the following:

Individual progress in mastering techniques covered in class. Displaying a reasonable understanding of the parts of the camera, how it works. Also, knowledge on how the darkroom is utilized.

Participation in the care of the darkroom and classroom equipment.

Student Photography Show:

End of the semester participation of the Student Photography Show is expected and mandatory. Only exception will be a conflict with another school activity, which in this case a written report will be assigned.
